OVERVIEW

Candidates from around the world have an opportunity to apply for the 5,5-year Master of Pharmacy program at English Division at the Medical University of Gdańsk. The extended curriculum is based on strict European and US standards. Upon graduation, students receive a Master of Pharmacy diploma and allows for registration as a pharmacist in Poland.


ADMISSION STEPS

Candidates from Poland interested in studies at the 5,5-year Master of Pharmacy program (English Division) should:

  1. Register on-line in electronic candidate database (available at: admission2024.mug.edu.pl)
    Admission for the Fall 2024 will be open on the 15th of March 2024, deadline for applying is 31st of July 2024.
  2. Fill in on-line application form for 5,5-year Master of Pharmacy program.
  3. Submit a complete application package by regular mail to the Admissions Office at the Medical University of Gdańsk between 15th of March 2024 and 31st of July 2024.

Candidates have to be at least High School graduates and hold High School Diploma with grades in either Chemistry or Biology (one is obligatory) and one selected subject from: Biology or Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, and are admitted on basis of their position on the ranking list. The position on the ranking list is based on the total amount of points achieved in the following:

  1. Candidates with “new” Polish High School Diploma – Matura are selected on the basis of the number of points calculated from:
    1. their grades recorded in the official high school transcript/maturity certificate. Two grades out of the following four subjects are required and taken for evaluation: Option I: Chemistry (obligatory) and either Biology, Physics, or Mathematics.
      Option II: Biology (obligatory) and either Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics
      Each of the two required subjects has to be taught at the advanced level.
    2. score from English language recorded in the official high school transcript/maturity certificate – it cannot be lower than 80% (advanced level)
  2. Candidates with “old” Polish High School Diploma – Matura are selected on the basis of the number of points calculated from:
    1. their grades recorded in the official certificate issued by OKE. Two grades out of the following four subjects are required and taken for evaluation:
      Option I: Chemistry (obligatory) and either Biology, Physics, or Mathematics.
      Option II: Biology (obligatory) and either Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics
      Each of the two required subjects has to be taught at the advanced level;
    2. score from English language recorded in the official certificate issued by OKE – it cannot be lower than 80% (advanced level)
  3. Candidates with High School Diploma from foreign schools, are selected on the basis of their scores from:
    1. The number of points calculated from their grades recorded in the official high school transcript/maturity certificate. Two grades out of the following four subjects are required and taken for evaluation:
    Option I: Chemistry (obligatory) and either Biology, Physics, or Mathematics.
    Option II: Biology (obligatory) and either Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics
    Each of the two required subjects has to be taught at the advanced level;
    2. An interview based on the English language proficiency, motivation and predisposition for pharmaceutical profession and the knowledge of selected subjects (topics for review).
  4. Candidates with IB Diploma are selected on the basis of their scores from IB Diploma in Chemistry HL (obligatory) and one selected subject from: Biology, Physics or Mathematics HL, as well as score from an obligatory interview (see above). If candidate passed the subjects at the SL, mentioned above written and oral part of entrance exam (interview) is required.

Documents required in admission process:

  • signed application form (printed from the electronic candidates database available at: admission2024.mug.edu.pl)
  • a copy of the High School Diploma or (its equivalent) with transcript of grades in the candidate’s native language certified by candidate’s school or by a public notary
  • an English translation of the above original document, translated and certificated by candidate’s school or by a sworn translator (does not apply to documents in English or Polish)
  • a photocopy of the applicant’s passport or ID certified by a public notary
  • certificate confirming English language skills

Copies of documents may be certified as true copies by the Admission Officer if candidate submits the original documents in person for review.

Incomplete application packages will not be taken into the consideration!

Documents required after acceptance:

  • original High School Diploma or its equivalent legalized or with apostille
  • copy of document “Financial obligation during the study” signed
  • confirmation of health insurance


FEE

Tuition fee and charges:
  • Orientation Week fee 3 000 PLN
  • tuition fee for the first to the six year of study 35 000 PLN per year
