In this place we will try to answer your questions regarding recruitment procedure:

What is the deadline for registration?

The deadline for registration in MUG electronic database (admission2024.mug.edu.pl) depends on the program. For Doctor of Medicine it is 15.07.2024, for B.Sc. Nursing and Master of Pharmacy it is 31.07.2024, for Premedical Course it is 31.08.2024. Till that time, a complete application package must arrive by regular mail to the Admissions Office at the Medical University of Gdańsk. Deadlines for registration in recruitment agencies cooperating with MUG may be earlier – please check with your chosen agency. The 2024 electronic database will be available at the beginning of March, 2024.

How much is the recruitment/application fee?

MUG does not charge recruitment/application fee. It is possible that the agency organizing the exam in a convenient location for the candidate will charge a fee related to the costs of renting the premises.

When I should pay orientation week/tuition fee?

M.D. programme, Master of Pharmacy programme, Bachelor of Nursing programme: Orientation Week fee should be paid within 30 days since acceptance date (the exact date will be specified in the Certification of Enrollment.) The tuition fee for each year should be paid in two installments: first one should be paid by the 15th of October (or 15th of November — applies only to students applying for loans); the second installment — should be paid by the 15th of February.

Premedical Course: fee for the Course should be paid within 30 days since being accepted (the exact date will be specified in Certification of Enrollment).

Where can I find the Application Form?

The application form is available in the MUG’s online registration system (available at: admission2024.mug.edu.pl). After completing and approving the application form in the database, it should be printed from the “Printouts” tab. Both versions of the document — the English and the automatically created Polish translation should be printed and signed (it’s a formal requirement – the documents are necessary for the student’s file). Both signed documents should be scanned and attached as PDF files in the recruitment database (along with other documents – the high school diploma, and the English language proficiency certificate.)

What are the electronic photo requirements?

File format: JPG, minimum photo size: 375×300 pixels (height of the photo is larger than its width), maximum file size: 500kb, passport type photo. This photo will be in your student ID, the Dean’s office database profile, in official IDs – so, please, make sure its form is official.

My whole education was conducted in English. Do I have to submit English language certificate?

Candidates whose education was conducted in the English language are not obliged to submit a certificate confirming English language proficiency. If English is not the official language of the country where education took place, or if English is one of several official languages, a school certificate is required — confirming what the language of instruction in high school was.

I am an IB diploma holder with a grade from English. Do I have to submit additional English language certificate?

Candidates who have an HL or SL grade in English at the IB diploma do not have to submit additional documents confirming the knowledge of English necessary to undertake studies (B2 — according to the CEFR scale).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic English language tests centers are closed. What I can do?

Various English language testing centers have created online exam tests, which can be done at home. We recommend the following tests:

- Duolingo English Test (DET)
Minimum score : 110
The Duolingo English Test is an online English proficiency test that can be taken online, on-demand, in under an hour. The test is taken via computer with a camera and includes a proficiency score, a video interview, and a writing sample which is shared with the chosen institution when you send your results. Certified results are available within 48 hours of the test session.

What minimum level of English proficiency is required?

Based on the applicable criteria, the minimum level of English proficiency necessary to start:
  1. Study in English is set at the:
    1. IELTS, min. 6.5 points,
    2. Cambridge Examination: Advanced (CEA) or Proficiency (CPE) level,
    3. BEC Higher,
    4. BULATS score 67,
    5. CLB/CELPIP 8-9,
    6. CAEL 70
    7. Duolingo 110,
    8. TOEFL Internet-based test: min. 79 points, Computer-based test: min. 213 points,
    9. Candidates who completed their previous education in Scandinavia: Norway: min. grade in English in secondary school: 4, Sweden: min. grade in English in secondary school: VG or C, Denmark: min. grade in English in secondary school: 7.
  2. Premedical Course is set at the:
    1. IELTS levels 6-6,5 points
    2. Cambridge First Certificate- English FCE certificate,
    3. BEC Vantage,
    4. BULATS score 60,
    5. CLB/CELPIP 6-7,
    6. CAEL 60,
    7. Duolingo 95,
    8. TOEFL Internet-based test: min. 72 points, Computer-based test: min. 200 points,
    9. Candidates who completed their previous education in Scandinavia: Norway: min. grade in English in secondary school: 4, Sweden: min. grade in English in secondary school: VG or C, Denmark: min. grade in English in secondary school: 7.

Is the Orientation Week obligatory?

Yes, it is for all accepted students for the first year of studies. Orientation Week is the only opportunity to obtain information necessary for the proper start of studies; it is the period of allotment to student groups and to carry out the necessary medical examinations.

Does MUG help with the visa process?

After accepting the candidate, the MUG’s Admissions Office issues documents confirming the admission, which is necessary to apply for a student visa. Also, at the request of the Embassy/Consulate, MUG’s Admissions Office confirms the authenticity of the above documents. Organization of the date of obtaining a visa, and the whole visa process is the student’s own responsibility. Assistance may be provided by recruitment agencies cooperating with MUG – direct contact with the agency is recommended.
